Sir Terry Pratchett Memorial Scholarship

A scholarship is available to a commencing full-time Masters by Research student enrolled through the University of South Australia (UniSA).

As part of his legacy beyond literature, the Discworld Foundation – set up by international bestselling author, the late Sir Terry Pratchett – has established a perpetual scholarship in his name through the University of South Australia.


Applications are being sought from proven high achievers for this prestigious scholarship working in the areas of social theory, cultural studies, visual and literary studies and identity studies, where the research proposed is inspired by Sir Terry Pratchett’s work.

The Scholarship includes:

  • Up to AUD$25‚000 a year for a period of two years, made in fortnightly stipend payments
  • AUD$5‚000 per year for accommodation-related expenses
  • AUD$5,000 per year for travel-related expenses
  • Study at The Long Room Hub, Trinity College Dublin for up to 12 months

The scholarship is open to Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents and Student Visa Holders. Applications deadline extended to 5.00pm ACST Friday 26 May 2017.
